Universal Wood Tester is a screw type motor driven and is suitable for
conducting Tensile strength and Elongation,Compression, Bend, Shear and
other tests on various materials such as metal rubber, plastic, leather,
asbestos, PVC, paper, textile, wire/cable, ceramics, rexins etc. in
conformity with standards such as BIS, BSS, ASTM, DIN, ISO, EN etc.
The tester may also be used for conducting variety of tests including
Compression (Parallel-to-Grain), Shear Strength, Hardness (Janka Ball Test),
Cleavage, Static Bend, Plywood Grips, Nail/Screw withdrawal Test and many
other tests on Wood, Plywood, MDF, etc.
The load measurement system utilizes a four-figure peak picking digital
voltmeter which displays maximum load until reset. The use of digital
roadouts for load and deflection(optional) eliminates the high risk of error
involved when interpolating from graphs, dials and scales.
The elongation is read from a scale graduated in millimeter.
The machine can also be provided with optional attachments like Strip Chart
Recorder and Digital Elongation Readout Display. The motive power (drive
system) is provided by a D.C. shunt wound motor for constant torque
characteristics which is coupled to a lubrication-sealed-for-life gear unit.
Straining speed (cross-head speed) is infinitely variable by means of a
calibrated speed control knob from 0 to 100 mm/min or as desired.Return to
original setting is at full speed. (This machine having one straining speed
may be supplied at a reduced price).
The front panel control consists of STRAIN, STOP AND RETURN push buttons,
MAINS lamp, ZERO button and PEAKHOLD/ NORMAL switch and output for use of
optional printer. .
An adjustable upper limit setting trip enable users to preset specimen
length and a lower adjustable trip prevents any crosshead overtravel.The
basic frame allows a total jaw seperation of 1000 mm. However, extended
frame having jaw seperation upto 2000 mm may be supplied at additional cost.
The machine is operated on 230 volts. 1-ph, 50 c/s. A. C. Mains or as
desired.
